Chemically Modified Cyclodextrins
【Introduction】 Cyclodextrin(CD) is a cyclic oligosaccharide produced from starch by amylase. It possesses a hydrophobic molecular cavity composed of glucoses through _-1,4-linkages as shown below. CD includes a guest molecule in the cavity and therefore it has been paid great attention as a host compound in both basic and applied chemistry. In order to make good use of CD and also improve its ability, chemical modification is essential. Some of the results of studies undergone in this laboratory are described in the next section. ![]() |
